American Legion hosts free health fair for veterans

Published: Updated:

FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla.- Veterans lined up outside the American Legion facility to get free health advise on Saturday.

They were able to see doctors, technicians, and counselors to get screenings.

Experts who participated volunteered their time free of charge.

A free lunch was also given to the veterans who attended.

Volunteers say they’re just trying to give back to those who have sacrificed so much for this country.

“It’s our position that we’re responsible for all our veterans and every citizen should be responsible for our veterans,” said Mike Adcock. “We’re trying to give something back to the veterans.”

Many veterans WINK News spoke with said it was their only opportunity for something like this. The veterans did not have to be members  of the American Legion to attend.
