PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla.- Detectives are attempting to identify two men who used a fraudulent credit card to make a purchase at a local fishing business. Back in 2014, two men went to Fishin’ Franks Bait and Tackle, located at 4425 Tamiami Trail in Charlotte Harbor, and selected a quantity of relatively expensive fishing equipment, as well as some items of less value. They provided a credit card to pay for the more than $2,000 worth of merchandise. Police say after the transaction was processed, the business was notified that the credit card was fraudulent. They recently filed a report with the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office. Anyone with information on the identity of either of these men is asked to please call the Sheriff’s Office at (941) 639-2101 (ask for Economic Crimes), or Crime Stoppers at 800-780-TIPS (8477).
