FMPD seeks help in 2006 cold case homicide

FORT MYERS, Fla.- Authorities are looking for any tips or information that may lead to the arrest of the individual or individuals responsible for a 2006 homicide.

Police say 57-year-old Glinda Thomas Allen was killed during the early morning hours of Wednesday, October 18, 2006.

Allen was the passenger in a red 2005 BMW 330i driven by Joseph Delisio when an unknown black male shot at the vehicle. Allen was struck by the gunfire and was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital by Delisio where she was pronounced deceased.

Police say the exact location of the murder is unknown, because the driver of the BMW was unfamiliar with the area. It is believed that the incident occurred in the Dunbar Community.

“We know there are individuals who witnessed the tragic murder of Glinda Thomas Allen. The victim’s family has waited eight long years for justice, and still have not been able to receive the closure they deserve. It is imperative for anyone who has information regarding this crime to come forward and help us solve this murder,” said Detective Sergeant Brian O’Reilly.

FMPD would like to remind everyone that a reward of up to $25,000 is available for anyone providing information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the accused offender.
