Deadly vehicle rollover in Lee County

LEE COUNTY, Fla. – At least one person is dead after deputies say a vehicle rolled over and caught fire.

It happened around 2:15 a.m. Saturday, near the intersection of Alico Road and Corkscrew Road.

Detectives say the vehicle was traveling west on Alico Road and attempted to take a right hand curve. The vehicle left the roadway in the curve, traveling through a ditch and a chain link fence. The vehicle overturned and caught fire.

Due to the extensive damage, detectives are trying to determine the vehicle type as well as the identity of the single occupant.
