Travelers arrive in Southwest Florida just in time for Christmas

Published: Updated:

LEE COUNTY, Fla.- WINK News spent the day talking to travelers, coming and going from Southwest Florida this Christmas Eve. We met two ladies from Pennsylvania who tell WINK News, they’re changing up their Christmas this year! It was their first time on an airplane, their first time in Florida, it will be their first Christmas on the beach and it’s their first time on tv!

It was a moment this family has been anticipating, Christmas Eve would be the day they reunite and make new holiday memories.

“It was so exciting, we were looking out the window the entire time,” said visitor Suryia Choudry.

All the way from Pennsylvania, these two sisters arrived in Southwest Florida to spend the holiday on the beach with their aunt and uncle.

“It’s going to be a great Christmas, we haven’t seen them for Christmas in probably 14 years,” said their aunt Karen Langenfeld.

But, there’s always a first time for everything and this trip, these ladies will be checking a lot off their bucket list.
It’s their first time to Florida…

“It’s like the movies, you’re talking about Florida, the calm water, it’s really sunny, the warm sand,” said Choudry.

Their first time flying…

“I was a nervous wreck going on that plane, my stomach was like horrible,” said visitor Maggie Choudry.

They are trading in the snow, for the beach sand.

“I’ve never been to the beach either.”

The girls say they will be capturing every moment of their Florida vacation, starting by making their first TV appearance on WINK News.

“This is going on Facebook definitely.”

“It was such an unexpected surprise for the week, so thank you so much!”
