LAKELAND, Fla. (AP) – Polk County deputies say they’ve arrested a Lakeland woman for trying to hire a hitman to murder her husband who owns a pizza shop with her.

The sheriff’s office reports that 47-year-old Tanya Senay Demirhan was arrested Saturday on felony charges of solicitation to commit a first-degree murder and unlawful use of a two-way communication device.

According to an arrest report, Demirhan met with an undercover detective to arrange the murder of her husband, 56-year-old Atilla Demirhan. The price was $10,000.

The Lakeland Ledger (http://bit.ly/13rIfPu) reports that Demirhan is being held at the Polk County Jail without bond. It’s unclear if she’s retained an attorney. She didn’t have the cash, so she told the detective she would transfer ownership of four vehicles as payment.
