LEHIGH ACRES, Fla.- Narcotics deputies have uncovered another grow house.

Neighbors say for the past two weeks, they smelled a strong odor coming from a home located on the 200 block of South Lake Drive near Richmond Avenue.

“It was so potent, you know, and it stunk in my house. I would wake up at 3 o’clock in the morning, I could smell it in my bedroom,” said Tony Berus.

Officials went to the house after receiving a call about the smell. Deputies noticed the strong odor of marijuana. Upon knocking on the door, and not receiving an answer, deputies notified Narcotics Unit Detectives.

After obtaining a search warrant for the property, detectives discovered 65 marijuana plants throughout the residence.

Deputies also determined that gasoline was being poured onto the driveway in an attempt to mask the smell of the marijuana.

An estimated combined weight of 158 pounds of marijuana was recovered.
