MGN FORT MYERS, Fla.- The 42nd annual City of Palms Classic Basketball tournament tips off today at 2:15 at Bishop Verot High School in Fort Myers. Hundreds of the best high school basketball players in the country will head to Southwest Florida for the tournament, which brings about a million dollars to the local economy. 39 games will be played over the 6-day tournament. More than 530 players who have played in the City of Palms Classic have advanced to NCAA Division I competition, and more than 60 players have advanced to play professionally in the National Basketball Association.
