Southwest Florida’s own Clark Griswold

CAPE CORAL, Fla. – For the 9th year in a row Neil Monkman has transformed his Cape Coral home into one of the largest and most intense Christmas light displays around.

The home showcases more than 150,000 lights, powered by 5 miles of extension cords, all synchronized to various Christmas songs and music.

Monkman begins setting up his holiday display the first weekend of October and will leave it up and running until the end of December. You can view the nightly light shows from 6 p.m.- 10 p.m. until December 28th.

The show is free, however donations are accepted for the Retired Law Enforcement Association of Southwest Florida, to raise money for K9 protective vests. Last year Monkman brought in more than $4,100 for the charity and hopes to match or exceed that again this year.

The Monkman house is located at 908 SW 4th Ave. You can also listen to the synchronized music outside the display on FM radio 90.5.
