CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) – Miami athletic director Blake James is reiterating what he’s been saying both publicly and privately for months, that he and the school remain behind coach Al Golden despite the football program’s ongoing struggles.

James says no one at Miami is happy or satisfied with the 6-6 record in this regular season, which concluded with losses to Virginia and Pittsburgh – both of whom were under the .500 mark at the time.

Golden was hired without knowing Miami was facing an NCAA investigation, a process that continued until about the midpoint of the 2013 season.

School officials have lauded Golden for how he got Miami through the NCAA probe. But the Hurricanes still aren’t title-contending, and this will be the 11th straight season Miami fails to win at least 10 games.
