Fort Myers Police identify two suspects in gas station robbery

FORT MYERS, Fla.- Fort Myers Police tell WINK News they arrested two men accused of robbing a gas station overnight.

Police say 27-year-old Tory Hutson and 26-year-old Christopher Walker are suspected of robbing the RaceTrac on Cleveland Avenue near Lee Memorial Hospital.

According to authorities, the two men went into the gas station around 12:30 a.m. with a gun and demanded money. They got away with some cash, and then police started chasing their car.

Officials pursued the vehicle into the parking lot of Travel Lodge located on Cleveland Avenue where it crashed into a median in the parking lot containing palm trees. Patrol units set up a perimeter around the business as the robbers ran from the vehicle.

Police were able to locate Walker hiding in a stairwell near the southwest corner of the Travel Lodge parking lot.

A short while later, Hutson was tracked down to a room at the Travel Lodge and taken into police custody.
