Lee Co. Schools Superintendent to speak at state conference today

Published: Updated:

LEE COUNTY, Fla.- Lee County Schools Superintendent Dr. Nancy Graham will host a break-out session Thursday at the Florida School Board Association conference, and she’ll focus on high stakes testing.

Dr. Graham will make her presentation at 10:30 a.m. at the conference in Tampa. School board members, and other district leaders from across Southwest Florida are attending the conference.

Dr. Graham is expected to discuss Lee County’s experience with the opt-out debate, common core standards, and the impact of over-testing or improper testing.

Earlier this year, the Lee County school board made a historic move, voting to opt-out of state mandated standardized tests, only to reverse the decision about a week later.

WINK News has a crew in Tampa for today’s meeting and will have updates throughout the day.
