MGN Online MIAMI (AP) – A January trial date has been set for a Canadian man accused of traveling to Florida to have sex with someone authorities say he thought was a young boy. Miami U.S. District Judge K. Michael Moore scheduled trial to begin Jan. 12 for Rene Roberge of Sherbrooke, Quebec. Roberge has pleaded not guilty to three sex-related charges that could result in a prison sentence of between 10 years and life. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents say Roberge flew to Florida after making contact on the Internet with undercover investigators posing as a 14-year-old boy and his father interested in arranging a sexual encounter. Agents also allegedly found child pornography on Roberge’s tablet computer. Roberge is being held without bail as a risk of flight and danger to the community.
